It has been the proud tradition of the Italian American Lawyers Association (IALA) to award an annual scholarship to an exceptional law student. On average, approximately 15 to 20 applications are received each year. In the past, all applicants received a one year membership in our organization at no charge.
This year, we will be offering two scholarships of $3,000.00 each. In addition to a one year free membership in our organization, IALA will give each law student applicant a one year membership in the Los Angeles County Bar Association.
The 2012 IALA Scholarship winners will be honored at our annual meeting with the California Supreme Court. It is truly a special event.
The recipients of the 2012 IALA Scholarships will be selected based on their academic achievement, potential contribution to the Italian-American Community and financial need. All information received by IALA will be verified to the extent possible, i.e., with the law school registrar. A certified transcript is requested by the evaluation committee.
