(and its youngest).
At her installation,
she designated
board members
as "Team
'88" and
presented each
with an IALA baseball
cap. Speakers

Panelli, Los Angeles
Superior Court
Presiding Judge
Richard P. Byrne,
and State Bar
President Terry
Anderlini. The
IALA hosted a
reception at the
State Bar convention
in Monterey. A
huge Italian flag
draped the entrance
of the hotel,
wine flowed, and
tunes rang out
on an accordian.

Caruso
The
son of co-founder
Paul Caruso, president
Carey Caruso appointed
a committee to
catalogue photographs
and memorabilia.
He requisitioned
funds from the
board for albums
in which photos
from events through
the years have
been placed. Meetings
included a debate
on gun laws between
Los Angeles City
Councilman Nate
Holden and a National
Rifle Assn. representative.

Lobello-
Lamb
The
president was
one of the original
"interim"
officers chosen
July 20, 1977;
she was recording
secretary. As
leader of the
group, she instituted
the MCLE program,
which continues.
The highlight
of the year was
the roast of Los
Angeles Superior
Court Judge Frank
Baffa, emceed
by his colleague,
Charlie Frisco.
